Hi, My name is Greer Rivera.

This blog documents my life as a professional photographer, it includes photos from recent shoots, offers helpful tips for your wedding, island info, as well as my personal and travel imagery.

My business is based on St.John, US Virgin Islands where I spend my winters, and Martha's Vineyard where I grew up and still return for summers.

I believe photography should be natural, classic, clean and simple.  Whether photographing weddings, kids, families, or commercial assignments, I create organic editorial imagery with a genuine life-stylistic approach that is full of energy.

More of my work can be viewed by checking out my website: greerrivera.com

Jana and Jamie were married at The Westin Resort on St.John right in front of the Gazebo.
The forecast called for rain but it held off long enough for them to celebrate!  They were joined by 50 of their closest friends and family, a nice small gathering.

Here are some of their images that caught my eye.

The cake was 3 different flavors! I loved the colorful flowers.

Jana's dad had to have his knee operated on and wasn't supposed to be able to walk her down the aisle in time but fortunately he made a quick recovery and was able to after all! So lucky!

I don't think anyone noticed this rainbow during the ceremony (including me!)

It started sprinkling during the ceremony but they just laughed it off! Love it!

They had some HILARIOUS toasts including Jamie's sister announcing that she was in love with Jana and that she was Jamie's present to her! haha

It was a beautiful night.

Barbara and Rob were married on July 3rd on St.John in the beautiful Villa, Poseidon's secret.

This wonderful event was coordinated by the fabulous Jen Johnson from Jen Events, Catered by Mathayom at St.John Caterers, and entertainment supplied by Greg Kinslow with In the Sand Band.

Barbara and Rob started dating 6 years ago after meeting in NYC and a year long friendship.  Then while on a vacation to Tahiti Rob proposed to Barbara giving her a gorgeous diamond and tahitian pearl necklace.

This couple is seriously cool, I loved everything about them and enjoyed working with them very much... I'm glad this feeling was mutual, Barbara just sent me the sweetest email:

Hey Greer,

Well, thanks again for being a part of our wedding. You were so great and fun to work with.  We really enjoyed our alone time with you and all the time before and during the wedding.  During all the crazy make up and hair, you were a big anti-stress factor for me.  You just have  this super calming effect about you! You are also super sweet and down to earth as well as take amazing pictures.  You have such a wonderful eye and style.  Along with hiring Jen, deciding to work with you was the best decision we made.  Seriously!

Everybody who has seen your blog wants to use you somehow - even though everybody lives all over the place.  So don't know if that will actually happen.  But it is a great compliment when Andres, the most particular guy in the world, rants and raves about your pictures!

OK, well hope Martha's Vineyard is great and you are having some good clam bakes and lobster rolls out in the open sky.

Thanks!!!
Barbara

Leaving the ceremony.

Immediately after the cake cutting carnival dancers led the guests to a lower level complete with a tent, dance floor, bar, live band and crepe station with every topping imaginable!

Don't even get me started on Barbara and Rob's wedding... It was amazing!  There's plenty more photos but we're flying out to the Vineyard today and while glancing through the photos as I was downloading them this one stood out.  I think it describes their love pretty well... Sunny. Sweet. Pure.

I had so much fun last night, I can't wait to look through all the photos.  I'm sure there will be plenty more up here soon.

Here is the totally adorable couple Cindy and Michael!  They were nothing short of fabulous on their wedding day, the love they shared was clearly apparent.

The ceremony and reception was held at Kalorama Villa, With Mathayom from St.John Catering preparing some delicious food.

Here's some of the cuties!
