I'm a believer that less is more.

  

Growing up we moved out of our house every summer to rent it out weekly so my mom could pay the mortgage.  I sorted through everything I owned every year and got rid of anything that was unnecessary so the following year there would be less stuff to sort and move.  My friends never understood how I could do this..but I never understood how they could have art projects from 2nd grade hidden in the back of their closets!

As I got older and moved out of the house for good, I came to realize that the experience of renting the house and moving every year made me better.  It made me care less about the materialistic things and made me love being clutter free.

I can not think of one materialistic thing I want for Christmas.
I think I'll just spend the day laying on a beach somewhere listening to the waves.

Good company and the simple joys of life will be enough.

I have been babysitting my mom's dog, Riley for the week and brought him and Lucca to the beach the other day and had a little photo shoot with them.  Riley is now an inch taller then Lucca even though he's only 5 1/2 months and Lucca just turned ONE a few days ago!  I really wanted to take pictures of them while they were still the same size because I know that in a few months Riley is going to tower over Lucca and probably be three times her size.

Jana and Jamie were married at The Westin Resort on St.John right in front of the Gazebo.

The forecast called for rain but it held off long enough for them to celebrate!  They were joined by 50 of their closest friends and family, a nice small gathering.

While I was in NYC I photographed Emma and Tyler for each of their modeling portfolio's, I was going to photograph them separately seeing as they had never met but decided it might be more fun to photograph them together for part of the shoot too.  They are both easy going people and had no problem acting as though they had known each other for years! 

Tyler is pursuing acting while Emma is a professional dancer in the city, both are going to do modeling on the side to make some extra cash.

Getting risky in prospect park. 

Emma is a dancer and moved to NYC to pursue dancing professionally while doing some modeling on the side, she recently got signed with a dance agency and is on tour.  She even met her musician boyfriend while dancing in his music video, now if that's not a requirement in that industry I don't know what is!

Every time we jumped in the car to go to another location, Tyler turned up the stereo and sang at the top of his lungs, it was pretty hilarious! hah

I met up with Cassandra and her husband, Keith on St.Thomas 2 days after I got back to St.John.  We met at their apartment, which coincidentally was right next door to some of my mom's oldest friends from Boston that we were visiting that day as well!!  They live right on the beach at Sapphire Beach, which was quite convenient for her beach maternity session.  

We took a few of her and Keith together before he had to get back to work, he owns Señor Pizza in Red Hook.  

Baby Rush was born TWO DAYS after we took these photos!! Thanks for waiting Rush! ;)

I'm so incredibly proud of my little puppy, Lucca for winning 3rd place in obedience class of the Ag fair dog show!

I have been working very hard training her and it finally paid off! 

Hopefully we'll get first next year!

Some of you might remember my mom's dog Douglas who died in May.

We've been missing Dougie very much and my mom really missed having a dog around all the time... Sooo she got a new puppy!  She wanted to wait a little longer to get one but I saw an ad for Rottweiler puppies in the newspaper that were in our town of West Tisbury. 

We went to see the puppies twice before we chose to take Riley home, there were three males.  All the puppies wore different colored collars and Riley's was red so we started calling him "Red" which turned into Riley.

We picked him up a couple weeks ago when he was 9 weeks old.  He has grown SO much since she got him, I'm scared to think of how big he will get.  His paws are already bigger then Lucca's and she's 9 months!
