Hi, My name is Greer Rivera.
This blog documents my life as a professional photographer, it includes photos from recent shoots, offers helpful tips for your wedding, island info, as well as my personal and travel imagery. My business is based on St.John, US Virgin Islands where I spend my winters, and Martha's Vineyard where I grew up and still return for summers. I believe photography should be natural, classic, clean and simple. Whether photographing weddings, kids, families, or commercial assignments, I create organic editorial imagery with a genuine life-stylistic approach that is full of energy. Rita and Noah eloped at Caneel Bay! Without ANYBODY knowing! No friends or family accompanying them, just two hearts in love...
These two met at a coffee shop through a mutual friend. Who had been trying to set them up for years! Through those years they were hardly single at the same time and after all that time, they met fatefully in the presence of that mutual friend.
Skip ahead a year later, they have a wonderful baby when Noah decides to treat his sweet girlfriend to a picnic and and make her his sweet fiance!
Noah is a photo producer (he looks at photographer's portfolio's all day!) so I was pleasantly surprised when they chose me to shoot their special elopement!
They were so easy to photograph because they are clearly meant to be and very very in love! Some people don't believe in fate...but I do!

I've been so busy trying to get all my work done before we leave for the season in a few weeks I almost forgot to post some photos of The Hicks family I photographed at Caneel Bay.

Today Lucca is at the vet all day getting spayed. :( I miss her terribly at the office today so I'm putting up a few photos of her from last month on Matthew's Birthday, the first day she swam alone without us putting her in the water! We were so proud of her... Our little baby growing up!

This is soooo cute! I love swimming dogs. Truly, I love almost all dogs, but swimming ones have that expression that says "ahhhhh" and it's heart melting.

Jacqueline and Richard were married on Trunk Bay in the late afternoon and chose to have their reception at Rhapsody Villa right outside of Cruz Bay with a fabulous view of the sunset.
The day was coordinated by the fabulous Janelle Scott from Island Bliss Weddings, the wonderful food was prepared by Passion Fruit Chefs and the jammin' music was provided by Eric aka "DJ Snow", with Captain Phil Chalker officiating!
The details on Jacqueline's dress were amazing!

Jen and Todd were married in the morning at Caneel Bay Resort on St.John. We met an hour before their ceremony was scheduled on the sailboat Spitfire.
Here are some of my favorites.
This is probably my favorite ring shot I've ever taken! I love that stuff on the left.
