Hi, My name is Greer Rivera.
This blog documents my life as a professional photographer, it includes photos from recent shoots, offers helpful tips for your wedding, island info, as well as my personal and travel imagery. My business is based on St.John, US Virgin Islands where I spend my winters, and Martha's Vineyard where I grew up and still return for summers. I believe photography should be natural, classic, clean and simple. Whether photographing weddings, kids, families, or commercial assignments, I create organic editorial imagery with a genuine life-stylistic approach that is full of energy. While I was in NYC I photographed Emma and Tyler for each of their modeling portfolio's, I was going to photograph them separately seeing as they had never met but decided it might be more fun to photograph them together for part of the shoot too. They are both easy going people and had no problem acting as though they had known each other for years!
Tyler is pursuing acting while Emma is a professional dancer in the city, both are going to do modeling on the side to make some extra cash.

We found this cute little restaurant right there in Brooklyn and had to take advantage of the bright red wall!
We got a couple of strange looks for this one.. but what ya gonna do. I had to show off that body! haha

Getting risky in prospect park.
Emma is a dancer and moved to NYC to pursue dancing professionally while doing some modeling on the side, she recently got signed with a dance agency and is on tour. She even met her musician boyfriend while dancing in his music video, now if that's not a requirement in that industry I don't know what is!

Tyler was calling this "Our Lucky's ad" because they both had on Lucky Brand jeans.

Every time we jumped in the car to go to another location, Tyler turned up the stereo and sang at the top of his lungs, it was pretty hilarious! hah

Emma's friend Laila Munaf is a designer at Third Culture and designed this sweatshirt for her, I LOVE it!

I met up with Cassandra and her husband, Keith on St.Thomas 2 days after I got back to St.John. We met at their apartment, which coincidentally was right next door to some of my mom's oldest friends from Boston that we were visiting that day as well!! They live right on the beach at Sapphire Beach, which was quite convenient for her beach maternity session.
We took a few of her and Keith together before he had to get back to work, he owns Señor Pizza in Red Hook.
Baby Rush was born TWO DAYS after we took these photos!! Thanks for waiting Rush! ;)

I launched a new site last night! It can be viewed at www.greerrivera.com. 
I also added a "lifestyle" commercial site so I can start doing more commercial work.
I thought it was time for an updated look! I also re-designed my logo and changed my brand color, here's the updated version. 
I know I've been neglecting this blog for a little while, but I know have internet at my new house so I'll be posting more stuff here!
I have a few shoots I still need to put up as soon as my life slows down a little...
I feel like its been non-stop since I started this business!

I'm so incredibly proud of my little puppy, Lucca for winning 3rd place in obedience class of the Ag fair dog show!
I have been working very hard training her and it finally paid off!
Hopefully we'll get first next year!
