Today I'm back to work after calling in "sick" yesterday. I love being my own boss! I haven't had a day off since Vegas (which was still photography related) and thought I deserved some time with Matthew at the beach. We went to Cinnamon and it was AMAZING!

I will be returning the emails from yesterday on Monday first thing, thank you for your patience!

The swell was up but we didn't even think to bring our boards, so we just spent the day body surfing, still a lot of fun!

I wanted to share with everyone my all time favorite non-photography related BLOG: www.Dooce.com. This woman is seriously hilarious and totally fits my personality type if only I was this blunt and open with the world!

This is my number one vice, if I'm procrastinating I'm probably looking at Dooce... and since she posts everyday its really hard to stay away.

Every month she writes these love/hate emails to her 4 year old daughter about her growing up and all the annoying things she does, along with some pretty decent photos. The monthly letters are actually really sweet, I might want to do something like this when Matthew and I have kids. :)

I am going to start marketing myself as a commercial photographer more, shooting for clothing companies and business's as well as looking into doing stock photography.

I thought a good way to stretch my creative wings would be to do a model shoot, this is where a photographer photographs a model (or aspiring model) for them to use in their "book" or portfolio.

I met Danielle at Cinnamon Bay on the North Shore on Sunday afternoon for a little fun in the sun, where her and her friends meet every Sunday and play volleyball.

After finishing a game of volleyball, (and after sweating all day in the sun) she still looked amazing and we started the shoot. Some (very lucky) people are naturally beautiful. Danielle is one of these people. While models don't always look like this, every model in a magazine or on a billboard is retouched like crazy; in Photoshop digital tech's will lengthen the neck, enlarge and separate the eyes and even make the nose smaller, along with a whole bunch of other unnecessary stuff, yet Danielle manages to pull it off with ease.

Later this month I will be entering a photo contest to have an image on the cover of Professional Photographers Magazine. Let me know in the comments which image you like of the "Danielle series" to enter in the contest.
